Åsgård Wilderness Farm

These Terms & Conditions apply to bookings and purchases made with Åsgård Wilderness Farm, including dog sledding, outdoor activities, tree-top accommodation, combined activity and accommodation packages, and farm products such as eggs and honey.

By making a booking or purchase, you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to these Terms & Conditions, subject to applicable Norwegian consumer law.

1. Booking & Payment

All activities and accommodation must be booked in advance through our website or by contacting us directly.
A deposit of 50% of the total booking amount is required to confirm the reservation.
The remaining balance must be paid no later than 30 days before the scheduled arrival or activity date.
For bookings made less than 30 days before arrival, full payment is required at the time of booking.
We accept major credit cards and bank transfers.
A booking is confirmed once payment has been received and confirmation has been provided by Åsgård Wilderness Farm.
Prices and booking conditions will be communicated before confirmation.

2. Cancellations & Refunds

Customer cancellations

Unless otherwise specified in the booking confirmation or required by applicable law, the following cancellation policy applies:

More than 60 days before the scheduled date: 50% of the total booking amount may be retained as a cancellation fee.
30–60 days before the scheduled date: 75% of the total booking amount may be retained.
Less than 30 days before the scheduled date: 100% of the total booking amount may be retained.
No-show: No refund will normally be provided.
Early departure or unused services: No refund will normally be provided for unused accommodation, activities, or services.

Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing by email. The cancellation date is the date on which we receive the written request.

Cancellation fees are subject to applicable Norwegian law and may be adjusted where required by law.

We strongly recommend that guests purchase appropriate travel and cancellation insurance to cover unexpected circumstances.

Changes to bookings

Requests to change booking dates, activities, or accommodation are subject to availability.

We will do our best to accommodate changes, but additional charges may apply.

3. Weather, Safety & Cancellation by Åsgård Wilderness Farm

Outdoor activities, including dog sledding, hiking, and other wilderness experiences, depend on weather and environmental conditions.

Åsgård Wilderness Farm reserves the right to cancel, postpone, modify, or replace an activity when necessary due to:

Weather conditions.
Safety concerns.
Animal welfare.
Operational difficulties.
Unforeseen circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

If an activity cannot take place as planned, we will make reasonable efforts to offer:

An alternative activity of comparable value.
A rescheduled date, subject to availability.
A refund where applicable under the booking terms and Norwegian law.

If an alternative activity is offered, guests may choose whether to accept it, subject to applicable consumer rights.

For accommodation and combined packages, any cancellation or modification will be handled in accordance with the applicable booking terms and mandatory Norwegian law.

4. Participation Requirements

Participants must be able to follow instructions provided by our guides and staff.

Minimum age requirements are:

Dog sledding: 12 years old, with adult supervision.
Hiking, woodworking, and tree-top accommodation: 5 years old, with adult supervision.

Age restrictions may vary depending on the activity and conditions.

Guests must inform us in advance of any relevant health conditions, pregnancy, mobility limitations, or other circumstances that may affect participation or safety.

We reserve the right to refuse participation where reasonably necessary for safety or animal welfare.

5. Risks & Safety

Participation in outdoor, wilderness, and animal-related activities involves inherent risks, including exposure to weather, uneven terrain, interaction with animals, physical exertion, and the possibility of injury.

In rare circumstances, serious injury or death may occur.

All participants must:

Follow instructions from guides and staff.
Use safety equipment as instructed.
Respect safety boundaries and designated areas.
Follow all animal handling instructions.
Inform staff immediately of any safety concerns.

Failure to follow safety instructions may result in removal from an activity without a refund, subject to applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by Norwegian law.

6. Dog Sledding & Animal Welfare

The welfare of our dogs and other animals is a priority at Åsgård Wilderness Farm.

Guests must treat all animals with care and respect.

Participants must:

Follow all instructions given by guides and kennel staff.
Approach, touch, or feed dogs only when permitted.
Avoid disturbing resting or working animals.
Respect all restricted areas.
Never engage in behavior that may cause distress or harm to animals.

We reserve the right to restrict animal interaction or modify activities when necessary to protect animal welfare or guest safety.

7. Accommodation – Tree-Top Stays

Guests staying in our tree-top accommodation must follow all check-in and check-out instructions provided at the time of booking.

Guests are responsible for:

Respecting the accommodation and surrounding nature.
Following fire safety and other safety instructions.
Respecting quiet hours and other guests.
Leaving the accommodation in a reasonable condition.
Reporting any damage or safety concerns.

Guests may be held responsible for damage caused by negligence or intentional misuse, subject to applicable law.

Maximum occupancy, check-in and check-out times, included amenities, and any additional accommodation-specific rules will be communicated before booking.

Smoking and open flames are prohibited inside accommodation and in designated restricted areas.

8. Conduct & Responsibility

Respect for our animals, guides, staff, other guests, and the surrounding environment is expected at all times.

Smoking and open flames are prohibited in cabins, near equipment, and in or around the kennel area, except in designated areas.

Guests must not engage in behavior that endangers themselves, other guests, staff, animals, or property.

Guests are responsible for damage caused by their negligence or intentional misconduct, subject to applicable law.

9. Individual Bookings & Combined Packages

Åsgård Wilderness Farm offers activities and accommodation both individually and as combined packages.

Bookings may include, for example:

Dog sledding only.
Tree-top accommodation only.
Individual outdoor activities.
Accommodation combined with dog sledding or other activities.
Other packages combining accommodation, activities, or services.

The specific services, dates, prices, and conditions included in each booking will be stated in the booking confirmation.

Where a booking constitutes a package or linked travel arrangement under Norwegian law, the applicable statutory rights and obligations will apply.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits mandatory rights under the Norwegian Package Travel Act or other applicable consumer legislation.

10. Liability & Insurance

Åsgård Wilderness Farm maintains appropriate business insurance for its operations.

We do not provide individual travel, accident, health, or cancellation insurance for guests.

Guests are strongly encouraged to obtain suitable insurance before arrival.

Guests are responsible for their personal belongings during their visit.

Åsgård Wilderness Farm cannot accept responsibility for lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings except where liability arises under applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes liability for negligence, personal injury, or other matters where such exclusion is prohibited by law.

11. Photography & Media

Photographs and videos may be taken during activities for documentation or promotional purposes.

Participation in photography for marketing purposes is voluntary.

We will obtain appropriate consent before publishing identifiable photographs or videos of guests for promotional purposes.

Guests who do not wish to be photographed or filmed should inform us before the activity or visit.

Photography and filming must not interfere with safety instructions, animal welfare, or the experience of other guests.

12. Farm Products – Eggs & Honey

Åsgård Wilderness Farm may offer eggs, honey, and other farm products for sale.

Products are subject to availability.
Prices and product descriptions will be provided before purchase.
Delivery or collection arrangements will be communicated at the time of purchase.
Customers must follow any storage and handling instructions provided.
Customers should contact us promptly if a product is damaged, defective, or does not conform to the purchase agreement.

Applicable Norwegian food safety, consumer protection, and product regulations will apply.

Statutory consumer rights, including any applicable withdrawal rights or exceptions, remain unaffected.

13. Force Majeure & Unforeseen Circumstances

Åsgård Wilderness Farm shall not be held responsible for delays or inability to perform services caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including extreme weather, natural disasters, government restrictions, or other unforeseen events.

We will make reasonable efforts to inform affected guests and offer appropriate alternatives or remedies in accordance with applicable law.

14. Changes to Terms & Conditions

Åsgård Wilderness Farm reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions.

The terms applicable to a confirmed booking will generally be those communicated at the time of booking, unless changes are required by law or agreed with the customer.

Updated terms will apply to new bookings from the date of publication.

15. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms & Conditions are governed by Norwegian law.

Any disputes shall be handled by the competent Norwegian courts in accordance with applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits consumers' mandatory rights under Norwegian or applicable European consumer protection legislation.
